2. Annual Motivation Course, Taman Negara, Pahang
Kelab Sukan dan Rekreasi RPM Engineers Sdn Bhd recently organised its 7 th Annual Motivation Course, from 25 to 28 July 2008. This year's course was conducted at Taman Negara, Kuala Tahan, Pahang. Thirty eight staff and guests took part in the course. They participated in a series of demanding physical activities such as night jungle walk, jungle trekking and hill climbing, canopy walk and rapid shooting. They also visited an Orang Asli settlement and had a great insight into their unique way of life.
The participants also took part in mentally and creatively challenging quizzes, namely "Kuiz Kenali Taman Negara" and "Kuiz Kreativiti". The "Harimau Malaya" group won the former while the "Golden Arowana" group won the later. The winners were awarded RM 50 gift vouchers.
While riding boats to the Orang Asli settlement, the participants had an "interboat water fight". The Managing Director, Ir Mohd. Adnan was convinced that his boat won althought the others thought otherwise! Earlier, during the jungle trekking, Madam Yong was the inspiration for all the trekkers as she made it all the way to the halfway point. From that point on, only the hardy and brave few managed to climb all the way to the top of Terisek Hill.
Later that night, during the "Kuiz Kreativiti" Iskandar (IT) managed to convince the audience and jugdes that his absolutely impractical umbrella design was actually useful! This helped his group won first prize.
After the dinner, five of RPM's staff showed that they had skills other than engineering. En Jamal, Iskandar Sapong, Hairi, Ikmal and KSR President, Wan Effandi played the guitars while the ladies - Nik Suriani, Norhana, Hania Sherita and Noor Eliya sang along. Dato' Siti better watch out! These RPM songbird really are talented bunch!
In all, this year's Motivation Course was a great success. Participants commented positively on the diverse and exciting activies that they participated in and for many of them it was unique experience that they would relish forever.
